A Tea Lover's Journal
I started enjoying tea at a very early age with my grandmother. I even had my own ‘demitasse’ cup and saucer!
I continued to enjoy having tea and making tea and when teas were really hitting the market in a big way I had the opportunity of taking a ‘tea course’ from a college in Toronto, Canada. My interest grew so much that I launched a business in Northern Ontario where I was living. I supplied to cafes and ecologically grounded businesses in my area until my move to the UK.
Now it is time to share in a new way the exclusive blends of The Tea Cosy with some old favorites, and some teas with a new twist. Most importantly, I adhere to ETP, Ethical Tea Partnership for all my tea blends.

Earl Grey Tea
Did you know that Earl Grey Tea is named after Charles II Earl Grey, British Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834? This father of 16 children, played a key role in abolishing slavery in most of the British Empire, in reforming child labour laws, and in
introducing the Reform Act of 1832 – which created a more fair, democratic electoral system through new voting rights. Next time you have that harmonious balance of robust black tea with the citrusy, floral notes of bergamot, you'll know that the slightly spicy and sweet aroma, has an amazing history.
